how to get my start content on live.com?

we didn't port user settings from start.com to live.com but you can easily port your stuff.

go to start.com, click on add content, under advanced features click on export for OPML.
then go on live.com and import your OPML file... this will give you all the feeds that you have under my web... you'll still need to set up your main page though.

    thanks!

I like Start.com 3 more than the Personalized Home offered by Google, and that's saying a lot. The clean, stripped layout is beautiful. Just remember to place function and efficiency at the top of your list.

Serious problems with the RSS reader (Too many "ooops"s already!) and also with finding RSS feeds using the Search. Both worked fine at start.com so you should be able to get these fixed quickly. I hope you do as this looks promising. Shame to release it (even in Beta) with such problems though.

I also agree with Ayumu Kasuga, the search engine sucks. I tried to search for instruction on how to change a G35 coupe microfilter, and got XMFan.com.

I wouldnt say I LOVE microsoft, I guess I would if I was a start up investor back in the day. blah blah blah. I like how clean the site is, and I'm sure that will change with time and advertising. It's almost too clean, like your waiting for something.... maybe input?? I'll continue to play with it tomorrow.

    good luck..

Hey, I have a feature suggestion-- you should let people choose what search engine they want.

This goes for RSS feeds too. I searched for "boing boing" and the worthless MSN spider didn't turn up anything.

Bummer. It's not so easy to port -- for two reasons:

    1) Many of us have a ton of content on the main page that's minimized unless you're reading it. The stuff on your main page is often your most valued feeds, so really that should be integrated into your OPML export. Throw it in a "homepage" folder or somesuch in your OPML file.

    2) I had about 200 feeds in "my web" and just this morning wanted to check out a gadget. I go through the process to add the to-do list, and bam! It erased all 200 of my feeds. Luckily I don't depend on start.com to archive my OPML.

    3) live.com still won't import my OPML file for some reason. Maybe it's too large?

Is there a way to add favorites (bookmarks) to the live page? I know there is a favorites.live site, but why isn't this integrated into the main live page? If there's a way to do this, do tell. Thanks.

    I hear you, Jertambergoo.
Since watching Mr. Scoble's Channel 9 videos, each day I love Microsoft more and more.

I think that this live.com idea is cool, and I'd love to see it's functionality in firefox.
Keep up the good work guys!
